Every year, the four American Society for Nutrition journals identify up to five ad hoc reviewers to be named a Top Reviewer from the previous year. Selections are based on the quality, number, and timeliness of manuscript reviews completed.
The ASN editors are grateful for the support of our many reviewers, and especially grateful to those who go above and beyond by providing multiple well-written and punctual reviews in a single year. Lauren Au, PhD, RD has received the 38th annual Huddleson Award for the article, “A Qualitative Examination of California WIC Participants’ and Local Agency Directors’ Experiences during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic,” which was featured in the December 2022 issue of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2022:122(12), 2218-2227).
Dr. Au is an assistant professor of nutrition at the University of California, Davis. Au is a registered dietitian with expertise in maternal and child nutrition.

Dr. Christine Stewart has been elected to serve on the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) Board of Directors starting on August 1, 2023. Dr. Stewart will serve a two year term as Director-at-Large for Global Nutrition. This role serves as a board liaison to ASN at it relates to the scientific discipline.

The UC Davis Department of Nutrition hosted the 2nd annual Diversify Dietetics Meetup on May 11th with a great turnout of students and local dietitians. An estimated 53 million people in the U.S. turned to food banks and community programs for help putting food on the table in 2021. In recent decades, food banks have adopted policies and practices to make sure people not only have access to food but also healthy and nutritious food.
Academic Administrators are appointees who administer programs that provide service closely related to the teaching and research mission of the University. The duties of an Academic Administrator are largely administrative, although teaching and research responsibilities may be assigned. The Academic Administrator oversees complex units with a substantial amount of independence and works closely or jointly with faculty.
